Kochmar speaks in support of jobs, aerospace tax break
Rep. Linda Kochmar, R-Federal Way, spoke in support of jobs and the aerospace industry today on the House Floor. Shortly after, the Legislature passed Senate Bill 5952. The bill aims to incentivize the aerospace industry in Washington state by extending the expiration date of aerospace tax preferences. Those in support of the bill believe it will maintain and grow jobs.
“Regardless of how frustrating the legislative process can be, this bill is good for the people I serve. I am not as concerned about how we got here, as much as where do we go from here,” said Kochmar, R-Federal Way. “We can talk about taxes and tax breaks all day, but I want to talk about people. My community is full of families and returning soldiers that need jobs. Our unemployment is already high in the 30th District. Without the the current manufacturing and aerospace industry in our district unemployment would soar. I support this bill because it will help keep Washington working.”
Another bill that addressed the aerospace industry was also heard on the House Floor today: House Bill 2088. Both bills passed the House with bipartisan support.
